KWM to open in Singapore within three months

King & Wood Mallesons has just been granted the foreign law practice licence that it needs in order to advise in the country and now plans to work fast to open a base which will initially focus on international funds, energy and Chinese matters.

Stuart Fuller, global managing partner, said: 'Singapore is a key market for our clients given its role as a financial and trading hub and a gateway for investments around South East Asia, North Asia and India. Our expansion into these markets through our office in Singapore is the logical next step for the firm.' The office could even open sooner than three months, perhaps opening its doors in early April.
