Laterally hired associates in the US and Canada left their firms because of work quality or productivity issues in 51 per cent of cases - compared to entry-level associates who left for these reasons in only 34 per cent of cases, according to research from the NALP Foundation for Law Career Research and Education. The research covers 115 law firms in calendar year 2012. The study also shows that 17 per cent of associates overall left their employers during the year. Source: ABA
