The sentence handed down to the lawyer, Michele Santonastaso, was welcomed by the author who has had to live in hiding since he published an expose of the mafia in Naples in 2006. Speaking of the leaders of the Casalesi clan, Mr Saviano said: ‘They are not unbeatable, they are not invincible and this ruling proves it.
