Celebrity gossip web site TMZ and Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper report that two lawyers went to see Murray last week after he had a health scare, complaining about pain in his right arm and shoulder.
Michael Flanagan – of California firm Flanagan Unger Grover & McCool – handled Murray's defence in the Michael Jackson manslaughter case. According to the report he arrived for the visit with his 30-year-old son Ryan for support.
They were followed by sole principal Valerie Wass, who represents Murray in the appeal of his criminal conviction and in proceedings involving the California Medical Board.
Battery allegation
According to the report, Ms Wass attempted to enter the visiting room to see Murray but was blocked and pushed by Flanagan's son. An argument then erupted between the lawyers.
Following the altercation, Ms Wass filed a battery report against Ryan Flanagan.
Murray, who is believed to have witnessed the entire altercation, is currently serving a four-year sentence after being convicted in November 2011 in connection the singer’s death in2009.

Meanwhile, West Virginia news website 12WBoy has reported that the Marion County Sheriff's Department arrested a lawyer after another recent bust up – this time in an actual courthouse.
Stephen Murphy was arrested and charged with malicious assault after he attacked fellow lawyer Scott Radman in the court, reportedly causing bodily harm by beating him on the head and face.
Witnesses claimed that Mr Radman appeared to lay helpless while Mr Murphy continued to beat him on the head. Mr Murphy is free on $10,000 bond.
