Legal departments pay women less than men

Female Chief Legal Officers are significantly more likely to earn less than their male colleague, it was revealed in research carried out by the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC).  Salaries of less than $200,000 annually were more likely to be earned by women than men with 26 per cent of women reporting this salary compared with 19 per cent of men. Furthermore, men were more likely to have compensation packages of $600k or more (21 per cent versus 14 per cent). The figures also revealed that the percentage of women in the CLO role is 12 per cent higher in Generation X than in the Baby Boomer generation. Source: ACC
