Law firms need a well-run IT system for three main reasons, according to report author Richard Roebuck, managing director of Accesspoint. These are: case management, the ability to predict future events better and having a bank of information on clients. Smaller firms ‘will be able to review both the technologies and processes that feed them more quickly and effectively’ than large rivals which, he says, ‘turn far more slowly’. Cloud computing will facilitate more mobile working, he adds. Mobile working will also help improve productivity, in his view. He says: ‘While this might not signal the death of the large scale central office, we’ll almost certainly see a shift towards the virtual firm.’ Source: Cloud Computing
