Link Legal merger creates top 15 Indian law firm

India's law firms are embarking on a consolidation path with Link Legal the latest to announce a merger.

Link Legal India Law Services joins forces with DH Law Associates to create a top 15 law firm with a strong foothold in Delhi and Mumbai. The newly merged entity will retain Link Legal's name to create a 35 partner strong law firm with 155 lawyers. Link Legal co-founder Atul Sharma will be managing partner with Nusrat Hassan of DH Law who will be co-managing partner. 

International reach

Commenting on the merger,  Nusrat Hassan said it would 'galvanise the already strong full service practices and will create a national firm with unparalleled strengths in all practice areas. The merger will also increase the merged entity’s international reach.'  Atul Sharma said consolidation of legal practices was now necessary for the legal services sector as  Indian lawyers had  to match international standards.

Consolidation

It is the latest merger to take place in India as firms consolidate to attract talent and bigger clients. Post merger, the new firm will have offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, Gurugram, Bangaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai.
