Linklaters to put tighter focus on Africa

On the eve of a three-day conference for its Africa network firms, Linklaters has appointed a separate head of its Africa group - ending its practice of managing the continent through a wider regional group that included the Middle East and India.

Andrew Jones, a projects partner in London, is taking on the role. Meanwhile, Simon Davies - managing partner of Linklaters worldwide - assumes the position of head of the EEMEA (Emerging Europe, Middle East and Africa) group, but on an interim basis. A separate India head - Narayan Iyer - has already been appointed.
