The company said it had facilitated the merger after Houston firm Hays McConn had reached out to it for advice on merging with a national firm in March 2013. MLA identified LeClairRyan, which was specifically looking to establish a presence in Texas. The merged firms, LeClairRyan has around 370 lawyers, 720 employees and 23 offices in 12 states and Washington DC. The new team builds up the Houston and Las Vegas practices, also adding oil and gas, construction and hospitality expertise to the merged firm.
