Majority of firms plan to cut back office

Over half the law firms in the UK and US (56 per cent) are planning to cut the head count in their back office and business, litigation and secretarial support, according to research from Williams Lea.

This is despite the fact that more than 50 per cent are also expecting budget increases this year of up to 10 per cent. About half of firms are aiming to achieve a 1-4 ratio for secretaries to lawyers.
