Milbank has made up eight lawyers to partner in its latest promotions round.
The round is a step down from last year’s 17-strong cohort, one of Milbank’s largest partner classes to date. Three of those getting the nod are women – 38%, in line with last year’s 35%.
The firm’s global project, energy and infrastructure finance group saw the most promotions, with four, with the rest split between the firm’s direct lending and specialty finance, alternative investments, global corporate/M&A and transportation and space groups.
Half of the promotions were in the firm’s 400-lawyer New York headquarters, including energy and infrastructure finance duo Timothy Fitzpatrick and Séverine Losembe. Late last year, the firm also boosted its energy and infrastructure finance bench in New York with the hire of partner Thomas Sines from Paul Hastings.
The firm also promoted two to partner in Washington DC, while outside the US, cross-border M&A specialist Sarah-Maria Resch got the nod in Frankfurt, and Robert Wyse Jackson was made up in London, which, with around 45 partners, is the firm’s second-largest office globally after New York. Wyse Jackson represents asset managers, banks, corporates and investors in securitisation, derivatives and structured finance transactions.
Wyse Jackson’s promotion follows Milbank boosting its London bench last October with the hire of a pair of partners from Paul Hastings to launch a European real estate practice and an infrastructure team from White & Case in April that included partners Tim Sheddick, Tom Pound and Katie Hicks.
Milbank chairman Scott Edelman said the newly-promoted partners “exemplify technical excellence and a dedication to serving clients at the highest level, and we look forward to their continued contributions to the firm”.
The promotions were effective on 1 January 2026.
