Historic attitudes favouring globalisation are fundamentally changing....
Lawyers of the Delhi High Court joined their colleagues in Jaipur and Chandigarh in the action, following disturbances last week in earlier protests, according to the Daily Bhaskar.
Reports on NDTV.com say the Bar Council of India (BCI) sent a circular to the profession supporting the action and condemning the alleged attack on lawyers in Jaipur and Chandigarh.
The BCI also wrote to the Rajasthan Chief Justice and to the Chief Justice of India whilst the Supreme Court Bar association expressed serious concern.
Earlier protests
The lawyers had earlier been protesting about a local high court chief justice not being appointed to the Supreme Court when the fracas with the police occurred, leading to allegations of police brutality towards the marchers and more than a dozen or so lawyers allegedly attacked. Meanwhile complaints about lawyers were lodged by the police.
