Norton Rose caps Australia layoffs

Norton Rose Fulbright has said that the 30 layoffs in Australia will be the only ones taking place.

The 12 lawyer posts and 18 among the support staff are not part of a larger programme of job losses, according to Wayne Spanner, head of the firm. Canberra is seeing the biggest cuts - losing three lawyers and five support staff. Mr Spanner said: 'In the current Australian economic cycle, it is not surprising you would see less transactional work across the board.' Source: Lawyers Weekly
