Two stylists have written a critique of the dress of the 20 female lawyers they observed for Marin Lawyer, a title published by the Marin County Bar Association. They conclude that 'female lawyers in Marin are not winning their cases in the Style Department'. They say of the group that they 'wore mostly nondescript black pants (we counted a few skirts) with button downs or blouses in white or muted tones. Some didn’t bother with jackets. Few wore accessories.'
Strong and educated
Professor Yvette Martinez is to have a reply to the critique published in full as a letter to the editor. She says: 'We are strong, educated, dedicated, and vocal. Did you really think that we would thank you for the unsolicited fashion advice and skip off to the mall?' The executive director of the Bar Association, Mee Mee Wong, said that the article produced the biggest response from all the pieces published in the June issue. Source: ABA
