Partners pencil in Locke Lord Edwards merger for January

Partners in US practices Locke Lord and Edwards Wildman Palmer are preparing to vote on whether they should merge to create a 1,000-lawyer from January.

The votes look likely to take place next month. But one source within one of the firms predicted that ‘one or two teams’ might well split off. The source added: ‘On the whole, the prospect of a merger seems to have gone down well so far. A union would give a much-needed boost to both firms’ Chicago presences, which are currently lacking on both sides.’ Source: Legal Week
