Pinsent Masons is set to open an office in Warsaw with a six-partner team, making it the latest in a string of international law firms to launch in Poland.
The office, set to open in mid-2026, will be Pinsents’ ninth in mainland Europe and mark its entry into Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). Its founding team members have been hired from CMS, Dentons, DLA Piper and Greenberg Traurig and cover practice areas including real estate, corporate and M&A, banking and finance and construction. Pinsents said it also intends to develop further practices over time.
Pinsents’ senior partner, Andrew Masraf, said the move reflected the firm’s aim to scale its capabilities in Europe.
“Poland, as one of Europe’s most resilient and dynamic economies, adds a valuable component to our pan-European offering,” Masraf said. “It’s a key market for a number of our clients, particularly those in Western Europe, and remains an important investment destination in Central and Eastern Europe.”
The launch will see Pinsents join a wave of international law firms opening in Poland as it continues to enjoy a decades-long economic boom and cements its status as a legal hub for CEE. The country’s economy topped $1trn last year, the Wall Street Journal reported, a figure that likely lifted Poland into the world’s top 20 economies for 2025.
Other recent entrants include Fieldfisher, which launched in Warsaw and Krakow last year with a 32-lawyer team hired from local boutiques, and Addleshaw Goddard, which absorbed an 80-lawyer team from Linklaters to open in Warsaw.
Pinsents’ Warsaw office will be headed by partner Bartłomiej Kordeczka, who previously co-led the real estate practice at Dentons and until last year was co-managing partner of its Warsaw office, and Jakub Marcinkowski, who joins from DLA Piper, where he co-led the firm’s Polish corporate practice.
The founding team also includes former Dentons construction co-head Piotr Staniszewski, real estate partner Maciej Jodkowski, who joins from Greenberg Traurig, former CMS M&A partner Błażej Zagórski, and Bartosz Nojek, who joins from Dentons where he was co-head of the banking and finance practice.
The office will be Pinsents’ 30th globally and add to its European offices across Ireland, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Spain.
