To facilitate the opening, the firm revealed it has recruited Michael Mills and Michelle Fox from Herbert Smith Freehills, who will work closely with long time Quinn Emanuel partner James Webster.
The office, set to open in June, will be co-managed by Mr Mills and Mr Webster, and will deal with complex litigation across a number of practice areas, including securities, mass tort, products liability, directors and officers liability, class actions, insurance and reinsurance disputes, as well as financial services regulatory disputes.
The Sydney office will be the second international office opened by Quinn Emanuel in 2013, following its Paris office opening in January.
