Historic attitudes favouring globalisation are fundamentally changing....
Rockwell Olivier, owned by publicly listed Integrated Legal Holdings Limited, is a combination of four boutique law firms forming a partnership and launching on Monday 6 May. The firms, Sydney firms Argyle Lawyers and Pacific Legal Network, Melbourne firm Rockwell Bates and Perth firm Talbot Olivier, may fully integrate in time, the managing partner Peter Bobbin told Lawyers Weekly. In the short-term they will look at introducing back office services, he added.
Employees at the firm will be offered shares in ILH.
Profits up at Slater & Godon
Meanwhile Slater & Gordon’s revenue for the first half of the year increased 46.5 per cent to $145.7 million with the UK offices generating almost a quarter of the total figure. Overall, the net profit for the period was $19.1 million, 61 per cent higher than the previous corresponding period.
An increase in revenue in Australia was attributed to its ‘Not a problem’ advertising campaign which saw a double digit increase in new client enquiries. It is planning to expand in the UK after a £2.4m profit on UK revenues of £23 million for its first full six months in the UK after it acquired personal injury firm Russell Jones & Walker.
