US rap star Flo Rida – real name Tramar Dillard – has been ordered to pay $7,000 in fines after lying in court.
According to news website The Inquisitr, the rapper is being sued by his former assistant, Mahogany Miller, who claims she worked for just $3.08 per hour and was fired after asking for a proper wage.
However, Mr Rida did not respond to the original lawsuit in time, telling the judge he had not recieved the papers. He then claimed a woman named Stephany Nelson – whom he did not know – had the papers, but he did not know her address.
It is perhaps not the most convincing story from the artist, who’s hits include Who Dat Girl, Why You Up In Here and Freaky Deakey. Unsurprisingly, it did not take long for the truth to come out. Ms Nelson is actually an employee of the rapper.
After paying out $7,000 in fines, Flo Rida is still to face the civil law suit over his ‘internship’ scheme.
