The ministry’s information and publishing director, Ibrahim Al-Tayyar, said that the original proposal had been made by a lawyer and discussed several times in the local media. The ministry’s committee on the registration of lawyers is now discussing the possibility of some kind of uniform.

Distinguishable

Some Saudi Arabian lawyers have expressed their enthusiasm, suggesting that a dress code will help them to be recognised more easily and, therefore, to access courts more quickly. They also see it as part of an international trend. Lawyer Abdulaziz Al-Ossaimi said: ‘In all the countries of the world the lawyers have special dress that are easily distinguishable.’ Source: Saudi Gazette
