Marc Weingarten and David Rosewater, two partners in the New York activist practice, are heading up the new European group. Mr Rosewater said: ‘Funds are starting to become active in the UK and given what we have seen in other countries, including Canada, and given the amount of dollars flowing into activist strategies, there is good reason to believe it will become more active still.’ Record sums have recently been flowing into the US-based activist funds, giving them the financial firepower to target locations further away from home.
