The Chinese authorities are expected to use the model of 'closer economic partnership arrangement' which has operated with law firms based in Hong Kong and Macau and which were allowed to co-operate with mainland Chinese lawyers.
Foreign legal affairs advisers
Under the proposed system, foreing law firms would be able to send their lawyers to Chinese law firms to act as 'foreign legal affairs advisers'. The Chinese firms would also be able to send lawyers to the foreign firms. The lawyers could decided between them how the work was divided up between them.
