The firm expects to relocate two lawyers there by the end of August. The move is part of a general expansion plan by the firm which should see it open up in London and Hong Kong by March next year. Singh & Associates already earns about 80 per cent of its fees from non-Indian clients, according to managing partner Manoj Singh.
Arbitration work
In Singapore it hopes to win a substantial amount of work from co-nationals. Singh told the Bar and Bench blog: 'We are also looking to pitch to Indian companies for their arbitration work in Singapore and as and when our work load increases we will expand our team in Singapore.' A year ago the firm established an Indian desk in China with the Chinese practice Guangda Law Firm. The Delhi-based Singh & Associates has more than 70 lawyers.
