Skadden Arps closes in Austria as partner returns to CMS

Skadden Arps has decided to shut its Vienna after the partner managing the base announced he was joining CMS Riech-Rohring Hainz.

Rainer Wächter will join the CMS network on 1 October.  Now 55, he is able to take early retirement from the US firm. He receives a warm welcome from CMS, the firm he trained with at the start of his career. CMS Reich-Rohring Hainz managing partner Peter Huber said, according to Legal Week: 'Rainer Wachter joins as one of Austria's most famous lawyer personalities in corporate transactions.'  He specialised in cross-border M&A, often acting for private equity clients whilst with Skadden Arps.
