South Asia move on justice tribunal

Lawyers from India and Pakistan are to set up a justice tribunal to oversee human rights and public interest violations in South Asia.

The decision was taken at an event organised by the Pakistan Institute of Labour Education and Research and  Hamdard School of Law, Karachi in association with the Human Rights Law Network, reports the Express Tribune.

Justice for the people

The  soon to be established South Asia Tribunal of Justice will be set up through a ‘Peoples’ Network’ in all countries throughout the region. The tribunal will keep tabs on human rights, public interest violations and other issues such as minority rights, missing persons and terrorism. The ‘Peoples’ Committee will be headed by advocates Colin Gonsalves from India  and  Faisal Siddiqui.
