Firms on the new panel will be required to provide services including prosecution, advocacy and appeals before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal, work on court proceedings arising from interventions into law firms and representation in recovery litigation.

Current roster

The current litigation and disciplinary proceedings panels have sat for three years and expired on 30 June. Bevan Brittan, Capsticks, Devonshires, Kingsley Napley, Simmons & Simmons and Russell Cooke are currently on the litigation roster.

Bid for independence

The SRA is currently in talks with Government over its bid for independence from the Law Society, which the Law Society opposes. It also continues to probe UK law firm’s links to offshore companies following the Panama Papers leaks in April.
