The report predicts that 39 per cent of jobs in law will be automated as the profession reacts to changing demands of clients. Furthermore, there will be a tipping point in 2020, as law firms will be forced by the needs of clients and employees to develop new strategies to remain competitive.
The report anticipates that in 10 years there will be: fewer traditional lawyers in law firms; greater flexibility and mobility within the industry; a new mix of skills among elite lawyers; reformed workforce structure and progression routes; and a willingness to bring in people from non-legal backgrounds.
