Telefonica cuts £3m extermal legal spend

With no decrease in the amount of work, the telecoms company puts it down to competitive tenders.

Telecoms company Telefonica has saved nearly three million on external law firms in the last two years.According to Legal Business, the legal department implemented cost reductions for 2013 of £1.5, with 2014 seeing a further cut of £1.4 million. Its UK head of Legal  Kent Dreadon attributes the cuts to more competitive tendering processes for outside work. Source: Legal Business
