Top Singapore firm plans fast growth in Asia region

South East Asia's largest law firm, Rajah & Tann, is planning to send more lawyers to other jurisdictions as growth there continues to outstrip the growth that is possible within Singapore.

The firm set up its 500-lawyer network in South East Asia, Rajah & Tann Asia, a year ago. Managing partner Lee Eng Beng is credited with delivering the strategy which has produced this growth across nine countries including Malaysia and Myanmar. Speaking from Singapore, he said that growth in other jurisdictions is 'nothing like what we will ever see here again'. He added: 'In places like Indonesia, for instance, the growth is significantly higher than in Singapore.'
