Uganda Law Society to enter reconciliation talks with Attorney General

Having suspended the Attorney General, Peter Nyombi, for two years on the grounds of incompetence, the Uganda Law Society (ULS) has now agreed to start talks aimed at a reconciliation.

Uganda: Law Society dispute with Attorney-General Yui

Mr Nyombi was suspended by the ULS after claims he misadvised the country's president, Yoweri Museveni, on contentious matters. The ULS also claims that Mr Nyombi's opinions were not consistent with the constitution. The Attorney General's lawyer, Joseph Matsiko, told the High Court in Kampala: 'I was informed that the parties want to talk about this matter with a view of an amicable settlement. Court encourages amicable resolution of disputes.' Source: NewVision
