With combined revenues of over £20 billion, the top 100 have seen profits rise from £5.8 bn last year to £6.3 bn this year with the average top 100 firm generating £208m in fees and profits per partner standing at £98,000. The research was carried out by Legal Business magazine with editor in Chief Alex Novarese pointing out that 25 per cent of the top 100 are either merging or have merged in the past two years.
