When launching its new FBI-style National Crime Agency, it was revealed that the Home Office is considering the case for incentivising whistleblowing, including the provision of financial incentives to support whistleblowing in cases of fraud, bribery and corruption. Barry Vitou of Pinsent Masons told The Financial Times: 'This formula is tried and tested in the US where whistleblowers can receive massive multimillion dollar amounts. Bringing the same programme to the UK would mean more whistleblowers in search of a multimillion payout.'
