UK creates new route to legal practice

Eversheds and Pinsent Masons are among the law firms which are supporting a new scheme of apprenticeships for school leavers which will lead to the qualification of solicitor.

Another qualification will be offered for people wanting to qualify as property conveyancers. The Solicitors Regulation Authority will be developing the new standards for apprenticeship qualifications. It said in a statement: ‘Solicitors who qualify through this route will have to demonstrate to the SRA that they meet the same standards as anyone who has come through more traditional paths to qualification.’ Source: Legal Futures
