London-based magic circle firm Linklaters acted as international counsel to Glasgow-headquartered power generator Aggreko – reportedly the world’s largest temporary power generation company – in what the participants reckon is a ground-breaking scheme involving the construction and operation of an interim power plant supplying power to Eskom, the South African power company and Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM), the Mozambique power utility.
The total value of the project is approximately $250 million over two years.
The Linklaters’ team was led by Andrew Jones in London and Francisco Ferraz de Carvalho in Lisbon. Webber Wentzel provided South African law advice and Couto Graça e Associados provided Mozambican law advice.
