Law firms in England and Wales will have to notify regulators tomorrow if they have been unable to obtain indemnity insurance.

Uninsured law firms are on a deadline to report their situation to the regulators tomertu

With 90 per cent of law firms seeking to renew their insurance on 1 October, those unsuccessful firms will have to enter an extended 30 day policy period. If they are still unsuccessful, they have a three month period to cease practice. According to the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), 287 firms entered the EPP last year with 149 finding insurance during the three months. Source: Legal Futures
