Spanish firm Uria Menendez has seen its revenues increase by 3.6 per cent to €192.1 million. The figures reflect the findings of an Iberian Lawyer survey saying that nine out of ten law firm partners and business development professionals in Spain expect that their firm´s profits will grow in the next twelve months. The report found that 93 per cent of respondents to a survey said 'yes' when asked if they anticipated an increase in profits at their firm in the coming year. Just over 70 per cent of those that did expect an increase said they thought their firm´s profits would grow by between one and six per cent.
Global expansion
Last year Uria & Menendez created Latin American's first cross-border law firm, having taken a 30 per cent stake in a new firm, created by the merger of Chile’s Philippi Abogados and Colombia’s Prietocarrizosa. The 220 lawyer Philippi, Prietocarrizosa & Uría has offices across Chile and Colombia and shares resources with Uría Menéndez, which will carry on as an independent firm retaining a 30 per cent stake of the profits of the new entity. Uría Menéndez is one of Spain’s four-biggest firms by revenue.
