John Cannon, who was general counsel for the health insurer since 2007, will be temporarily replaced by Morgan Lewis & Bockius partner Thomas Zielinski until a new general counsel is appointed. Mr Cannon has served as interim CEO for seven months following Angela Braly’s resignation in 2012 due to shareholder dissatisfaction with Wellpoint’s underperformance.WellPoint gave no reason for the termination but CEO Joseph Swedish said he is looking for a replacement for after Mr Cannon leaves on March 3.
