Women GCs don't plan their rise to the top

This is one of the conclusions of a discussion by four female authors who have written about women GCs. Authors Michele Coleman Mayes and Kara Baysinger, co-authors of 'Courageous Counsel: Conversations with Women General Counsel in the Fortune 500' said, according to Inside Counsel, that 'few of these women set out to be GCs, but they ended up in a “career spaghetti bowl” that took them along various strands to end up where they were'. They were in discussion with Kirby Chown and Carrie Mandel, co-authors of 'Breaking Through: Tales from the Top Canadian Women General Counsel' at the Women, Influence & Power conference in Washington DC.
