Yigal Arnon, leading Israeli lawyer, dies at 84

Yigal Arnon, founder of the 140-lawyer firm Yigal Arnon & Co and former lawyer to ex prime minister Ehud Olmert, has died and will be buried today.

His firm, founded 55 years ago, is one of Israel’s largest five legal practices. He was, according to the Jerusalem Post, at times ‘a secret liaison for the state’ and the chair of several important institutions. He was ‘a master of jurisprudence, with exceptional ability to express himself and persuade others’, according to the notice put up on his law firm’s site.
