Results released yesterday show PEP at the firm is up by 7 per cent to £523,000, while revenue has climbed 8.2 per cent from £80.8m to £87.4m. The strong showing continues several years of consecutive growth at the Bristol-based outfit, where PEP has risen year-on-year since the £395,000 result recorded in 2010. ‘What we’re particularly pleased about is that our profitability is now up to a higher level than it has ever been before,’ commented senior partner Alan Barr to The Lawyer, adding that the firm has increased its partnership by more than 25 per cent and invested £40m in premises and IT since its previous profit result high in 2008/09. Last month, Burges Salmon unveiled a new strategy that will see the firm condense its focus to seven sectors: transport, infrastructure, private wealth, real estate, energy, financial services and the public sector. ‘We see it as more focused on quality and value for money. If you put those things together we can punch well above our weight,’ said Mr Barr.
