A management consultant has claimed that law firms'clients could be suffering from 'Stockholm Syndrome' such is their resistence to change. Paul Gilbert of LBC Wise Counsel says that the weaknesses of in-house teams are sheltered from exposure by their 'friends' in law firm who provide all the fixes they need but at a price. This is akin to 'Stockholm syndrome' he says, which plays out 'between law firms and their hostage clients.' Change will only come if firms break ranks or newcomers offer alternatives.Source: Australasian Lawyer
