Historic attitudes favouring globalisation are fundamentally changing....
Lawrence Abramson, formerly of Harbottle, and Jon Chapman, formerly an in-house lawyer at News International, are due to go before the tribunal in October. They were involved in examining emails in 2007 to see if certain individuals there knew that phone hacking had taken place. At issue is one particular batch of emails which suggest there was knowledge.
Did not look at emails
But both the lawyers concluded that the individuals did not know about hacking. The two lawyers are expected to say that they did not look into these emails as they had been marked differently to the normal batches and had been excluded from Mr Abramson from inspection on the grounds that they were not relevant.
