ChannelAdvisor's technology lets retailers integrate online sales across channels like eBay.

ChannelAdvisor, the e-commerce and technology company, has appointed Diana Semel Allen as vice president and general counsel. Allen joins the company from LED lighting company Cree where she served as associate general counsel, assistant secretary and compliance director. "Being a newly public company, it is essential that we have superior legal leadership to oversee all regulatory matters on a global scale,"  said CEO Scott Wingo on the appointment.

Halliburton is celebrating the new year with the arrival of a general counsel this week. Robb Voyles joins the company from the law firm Baker Botts where he was chair of the firm’s litigation department and served on the executive committee.He replaces Bert Cornelison who retires in April, having worked at the company for 20 years and as general counsel since 2002.

French bank Societe Generale (SocGen) has also announced the appointment this week of group deputy general counsel Dominique Bourrinet as its new head of legal.  He takes up the role vacated by Gerard Gardella who has been promoted as adviser to the bank’s corporate secretary.

European travel group Tui has recruited a former Clifford Chance and Deutsche Post DHL lawyer as its general counsel. Hilka Schneider  will look after group legal affairs, governance, risk and compliance as well as joining  the management board of TUI and taking responsibility for the executive board office of the company.
Ms Schneider will take up her post in March and replaces Andreas Gohmann who headed up the legal functions for the past 16 years.

Global engineering and technology company Alion Science and Technology has appointed  Kevin Boyle to replace  general counsel Tom McCabe. Mr Boyle will support initiatives for corporate governance and ethics as well as global growth strategy. Alion chairman and CEO, Bahman Atefi said of the new recruit: ‘Kevin brings significant experience across a broad set of disciplines that are relevant to our business, and his understanding of the environment in which we operate is ideally matched to Alion’s strategy for success.’
Mr Boyle was formerly general counsel for MCR where he set up  the company’s first legal department and corporate governance functions.
