Lawyers' journal launched for booming robotics sector

The surging robotics market - estimated to be worth $82b within 10 years in the drone sector alone - is expected to need the services of vast numbers of lawyers across numerous disciplines, according to a new title launched tomorrow.

Both in-house and professional practice lawyers are expected to be consulted in large numbers as the market for drones, driverless cars, AI, virtual reality and other forms of robotics develops. Robotics Law Journal, the new title from The Global Legal Post, covers the development of national and international regulation and also aims to help lawyers and regulators to frame the regulation as it develops.

Superb opportunity for developing regulation

Some of the most important parts of the new legal framework are about to start to be developed - as pilot schemes start in the US, UK and other countries for driverless cars. 'I believe that driverless cars present a superb opportunity and a test ground for developing the necessary regulation for AI,' says Luis Franco of Perez-Llorca in the tomorrow's issue.
