The law firm plans to have partners on the ground, led by the recently-promoted Tu Changfeng, now based in Dusseldorf. The firm has been involved in several China deals from Germany. It plans to focus on corporate, M&A and equity capital markets. Partners Hendrik Haag and Christian Mooler will divide their time between China and Germany. Six years ago the firm told Legal Week magazine that it was interested in setting up an office with a few of their European friends. Now it is opening in Shanghai - in contrast to Dutch best friend De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, Spanish firm Uria Menendez and London firm Slaughter and May, all of whom are in Beijing.
