The firm's most recent activity has included hosting a 'Doing Business in Africa' seminar in Dubai which was addressed by the Sierra Leone ambassador to the UAE. The ambassador discussed some of the measures being taken to stimulate commercial activity. These include work to push the country up the World Bank tables on doing business, the tables which measure the ease with which businesses can set up and trade.

Herbert Smith says it has 'one of the largest teams of common and civil law lawyers advising almost exclusively in relation to Africa'. The firm has 24 offices worldwide, including four in the Middle East. Source: Awareness Times
