Hogan Lovells appoints New York managing partner

Hogan Lovells has announced Oliver J. Armas as the new managing partner of its New York office, while finance lawyer Rober Masman is to join the firm's global finance practice as a partner in the Amsterdam office.

Mr Armas handles cross-border litigation, international arbitrations, and internal investigations. Fluent in Spanish, he routinely counsels clients on matters involving Latin America and has supervised litigation and conducted FCPA investigations in almost every country on the continent. He succeeds Dennis Tracey, who has been in the position since 2005 and will continue as head of litigation for the Americas.

Mr Masman joins Hogan Lovells from Clifford Chance. He specialises in asset based and structured finance and has a history of advising clients on their Dutch and cross-border financing and capital markets transactions. He has a particular focus on the financial institutions, real estate and transport sectors. His hire follows that of fellow banking partner Wouter Jongen in Amsterdam last year, with whom he will work closely. Source: Hogan Lovells
