Kirkland & Ellis profits per partner hit US$3.5m

Chicago-based Kirkland Ellis, famous for its high partner compensation, saw profits per partner rise seven per cent in 2014, taking them up from $3.1m to $3.5m.

Its revenue went up at a slower rate - up 6.6 per cent to $2.15b. The number of equity partners was almost static in the year, increasing by just 3 to take it to 337. The firm - particularly known for its litigation and corporate work - has been a major player in the lateral hires market. It is currently acting for Heinz in the Kraft Foods deal.

Principal goals
