Penningtons takes over Manches to create 115-partner UK practice

The new law firm Pennington Manches now has seven offices in London and the home counties, and a combined turnover of £58m.

David Raine, chief executive of the combined firm, said in a statement: 'This agreement fits with our strategic aims and responds to the ever-changing legal environment in which we now operate.  The synergy between Penningtons and Manches was evident early on in our discussions and by joining forces we will be able to offer an enhanced level of expertise to all our clients….The legal market is constantly evolving and we do not believe that standing still is an option for any strong, progressive law firm. Our two practices have recognised credentials, providing high calibre advice to UK and international clients.' The combined firms have 600 staff.
