Public good
Under the TTIP treaties being negotiated by President Obama's administration, companies could take action against foreign governments if their profits were cut by unfavourable legislation. There is considerable criticism of them in some quarters on the grounds that it would make it harder for governments to act for the public good. Source: Global Justice Now
